Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to boogie because Pace For Kids day is coming and Pace’s Pleasantville campus and along with it comes the Dance Marathon. Each year Pace has this event to honor children at the Maria Fareri’s Children Hospital and raise money for the hospital.
The event will be held in Kessel Student Center on November 19th. The Marathon and festivities start at 3pm but the work starts now. One of the most important aspects of Pace For Kids is raising money. The hospital provides help for 20,000 children each year as well as help for the families which is not something you can say about every hospital. Every room even has a built-in room attached for parents to stay with their children. They also provide comfort for the children with a variety of art therapy programs with a playroom, art studios and music therapy programs.
The fundraising goal for this year is $30,000. As of right now Pace has raised $3,178 which is far from the desired end result. That being said there is still plenty of time to donate and convince friends and family to do the same. In the words of the immortal Muhammad Ali “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”
